Historic UK footwear brand plans a resurgence in a new phase of restructure and growth. The company is in the process of some key structural changes and a key role was to find a really experienced Head of Supply Chain to lead and set the global strategy.
The Brief
As the company undergoes these key structural changes to set it on a path to future growth, it was key to bring in some external expertise across the supply chain, to manage through some current complications and provide the leadership as the product strategy is defined and the need for a rigorous and robust supply chain function to be put into place.
Drayton Partners Approach
Upon a full understanding of what was required, Drayton Partners used its knowledge and expertise of the footwear and apparel market initially, as direct or adjacent experience was deemed to be key to the success. Location was also a challenge, with the company being more remotely located. Vital was the positioning of the role, it’s importance to the future success and being involved at the beginning of a journey, to really attract the best people possible.
Outcome
We eventually found a really strong candidate who was based in South Africa and was looking to relocate back to the UK. He had direct and relevant experience and really bought into what needed to be achieved across both the short and long term. He was prepared to relocate to the area of the company and was internationally mobile to meet with the demands of the role. To date is proving to be a very strong hire for the company.
